Home bowling alley dimensions

People who love bowling will continue to play well into old age. Bowling is a great form of exercise because it encourages full-body movement, working the muscles in your arms, legs and back. Bowling is more about skill than brute strength, making it an ideal sport for all ages. Make the most of your home playground by investing in one that the whole family can enjoy. A home bowling alley is the perfect choice.

A standard bowling alley is about 86 feet long. The lane itself is 60 feet long and 3.5 feet wide. The pin table (with the pins arranged in a triangle) and the pit take up 7 feet. Note that it is standard practice to leave a 3 foot clearance at the back for the convenience of the machine technician. Players need space to gain momentum as they approach the lane and 16 feet is the optimum length.

We recommend that the room length for a standard-sized home bowling lane should be more than 86 feet and the height should be more than 10 feet (floor to ceiling). However, if the available space is not large enough, Flying Home Bowling Alley, as your one-stop home bowling alley installer, can customise the length of the bowling alley to fit the space.

All three packages we offer include the basic home bowling alley equipment: bowling lanes, bowling machines, ball pickers and sorters, pins, balls and overhead displays. We can also install custom player lounges, additional displays, LED colour lanes and automatic bumpers as value added features.
